Agnes Moorehead Suite

This suite is named after Broadway and film star Agnes Moorehead, who lived in Soldiers Grove from 1923 to 1927.  At that time the residence was a rooming house, and Miss Moorehead stayed here while teaching English and Drama at the local high school.  Today, most people remember her for her role as Endora on the TV series, Bewitched, rather than her many heralded roles in over 70 films, on the stage, and in numerous other television shows.

The Roth House: Agnes Moorehead Suite The spacious suite we named for Agnes Moorehead is as elegant and distinctive as she was.  We’ve chosen a soft tone of her favorite color, purple, as backdrop and added a little drama with an oriental screen and red Chinese silk table drape.

A queen-size four-poster bed is the centerpiece of the bedroom, and a cozy sitting area faces an antique wooden fireplace.  Four large lace-curtained windows let in sunlight and offer views of the expansive side yard and the bridge spanning the Kickapoo River.  The suite includes a private bathroom with a walk-in shower and pedestal sink.  There is an antique Murphy bed for one additional guest.
